Christine Würmell presents here a series of images in a mise en abyme situation. The traces that are tracked down by this photographer based both in Berlin and Los Angeles make up an original form of landscape iconography. The documentary images that she creates are the result of an all-embracing scenario. By confronting several reading levels, images are superimposed like inevitable components of a collapse – in the same way that a “Rich EC” graffiti sprayed on a garage can foreshadow the Dow Jones record skydive on 29th September 2008.
